Theorem Design Group is searching for a transportation stormwater engineer who is excited to advance their career in an open, transparent, and collaborative work environment. Responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute to a variety of stormwater and drainage design efforts, which may include:

• Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis

• Drainage and water quality design, both permanent and temporary

• Scour analysis for bridges and culverts

• Floodplain analysis

• Site grading

• Preparation of plans, specifications, and design reports

• Participation in the quality control process to maintain high design standards

Depending on your experience, you may also:

• Take ownership of key design elements or task areas

• Support or lead coordination with clients and subconsultants

• Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal knowledge sharing

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field

• 5+ years of experience in transportation-related stormwater design engineering

• Colorado PE license, or a PE license from another state with the ability to obtain a Colorado license within six months of employment

• CAD and other design software experience associated with transportation and stormwater design

• Familiarity with MS Office, Bluebeam, Adobe, and other data and report development software

• Ability and willingness to work remotely or in a hybrid environment in Colorado

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency or experience with OpenRoads Designer

• HEC-RAS and/or SRH-2D modeling experience

• Project experience under Mile High Flood District oversight

• CDOT or similar state agency engineering project experience

• Project or task management experience

• Established relationships with clients at Colorado local agencies and/or CDOT

• Understanding of flood risk analysis and preparation of NFIP-compliant CLOMRs and LOMRs

• Design-build and/or CM/GC project delivery experience

Compensation

Annual salary range: $90,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation is subject to variation depending on education, experience, and matching qualifications.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead and contribute to a variety of structural design efforts, which may include:

• Structural analysis and design of bridges and transportation structures

• Preparation of plans, specifications, and design reports

• Participation in the quality control process to maintain high design standards

• Application of AASHTO LRFD and other governing codes across project types

As the technical lead of the bridge practice, you would also:

• Serve as the technical authority on structural design deliverables

• Lead coordination with CDOT, municipal clients, and subconsultants

• Mentor and train structural staff and contribute to internal knowledge sharing

• Help build out the bridge team and contribute to Theorem's business growth strategy

• Grow into the bridge group manager role

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

• 7 to 15 years of experience in the design of bridges and transportation structures

• Registered Colorado Professional Engineer

• Experience with structural analysis and design software such as LARSA, SAP2000, Midas Civil, MDX, CSiBridge, LPILE, spColumn, PSBeam, PGSuper, QConBridge, AASHTOWare BrR, or similar

• Strong technical background with a thorough understanding of structural analysis methods and applicable codes such as the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications

• Experience with a variety of transportation structures, including precast concrete girder bridges, CIP concrete bridges, steel bridges, prestressed and/or post-tensioned concrete, retaining walls, metal and/or concrete culverts, drilled shaft or driven pile foundation systems, and drainage and utility structures

• Experience working with CDOT and Colorado municipalities

• Experience with design-bid-build, CM/GC, and design-build delivery methods

• Excellent communication skills and a desire to mentor and train others

• Ability and willingness to work remotely or in a hybrid environment in Colorado

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in structural engineering

• Colorado SE license, or the ability and desire to obtain one

• Project or task management experience

• Established relationships with clients at Colorado local agencies and/or CDOT
